DIY – Door Snake

Usually we get rain and blustery weather but as long as I’ve been in Seattle (7 years?) we haven’t had snow before Thanksgiving. This year we got it the week of! Our townhouse is three levels with one subterranean. In the summer we stay nice and cool but in the winter we are cold. I’ve been fighting drafts and windows that don’t close properly. Our front door has a very small gap at the bottom, not enough for bugs and whatnot to get in but definitely big enough to let in the cold. I remembered seeing a door snake in a catalog or somewhere and since I have too much fabric (I’m a ribbon and fabric lover) I thought I would try my hand at making one. I ended up using one of my very favorite fabrics from Kokka (a Japanese brand) of little birds and fun patterns. I think had I not run out of pinto beans to fill it with, it would have been an hour long project. It’s super easy to do to project, so beginner sewers can do this one without any issues!
I’ve also created this as a downloadable PDF for you to print! (in case your computer is not in the same room as your sewing machine)

This is awesome! I linked to your tutorial over at Craft Gossip Sewing:
